Centre Goals

While our philosophy is the foundation of everything we do, the following goals describe what we need to do in order to support our philosophy in everyday practice.

  • The learning environment will be unhurried, offering a wide range of meaningful learning experiences focusing on developing each child’s interest.
  • Children will feel safe, secure and accepted.
  • Children will develop and expand in areas of self-worth and social competence.
  • Children will be given the opportunity to construct knowledge through repeated experiences involving people and materials.
  • Children will be supported in terms of both their actual development and their potential.
  • Children will develop responsibility for their immediate and personal environment.
  • The content of the curriculum will be relevant, engaging and meaningful to the children and be developed in collaboration with the educator, the children and families.
  • Curriculum objectives will respect each child’s individuality, and be realistic and attainable according to each child’s interest.
  • Children will develop and expand their ability to express, represent, and understand thoughts, feelings and experiences of self and others.
  • Children will develop and expand their ability to make decisions and solve problems.
  • Children will be evaluated as they “authentically” engage in concrete, meaningful tasks that parallel the curriculum.
  • Children will be provided with opportunities that develop and extend an awareness of sound health, safety and nutrition practices.
  • Children will be provided with opportunities to develop appreciation and enjoyment for music, creative expressions, movement and different art forms.
  • Preschool children will be provided with a range of opportunities that prepare them for the ‘school’ (Kindergarten) environment.

Exceptional!! My three children have attended Dooral for close to three years and having experienced a few centres from The Rocks to locally before settling with Miss Silvia and her team. I have NEVER dropped off or picked up when it’s unclean or unorganised. The staff turnover is incredibly low and the educators are incredibly skilled, understanding & genuinely care of my kids. It is so culturally diverse which we love plus there so so many educational, interest based activities for the children – incursions, excursions and Miss Silvia’s family events for Easter, mothers/Father’s Day are very special. She is an outstanding center owner and runs her business impeccably! I could not ask for a more understanding or supportive or skilled woman to entrust my children to 5 days of the week. We have been able to meet lovely local families who respect the special environment Silvia and her team have created. The outdoor learning environment and playground are beautiful and the children are always given time to engage with nature, learn from scientists & enjoy their time outdoors. The resources are new, bathroom facilities in excellent condition. There is always excellent communication and updates given on the progress of my children and you can easily see that every family is a priority. I am sharing my experience to all parents who are looking for a daycare centre- My husband and I are very happy with Dooral. There are lots of centres in the area, but Dooral stood out to us mainly because of their great learning programs. There is a balance between free play and learning activities. My first son has been there since he was a baby and now is 4 years old. He has grown so much and enjoys going there. I can compare it to prep school for his age on. I also get regular updates, eg. photos of the day, on the app. I recently enrolled my second son who is 2 years old. He was very attached to me but the teachers made the transition very easy and in no time he settled in. The app also kept me updating with his progress during the day. All the teachers in each of the 3 rooms are well educated, patient and very kind. They each put so much effort into each child there. The centre is always clean and tidy. The director herself is very welcoming to deal with and runs the centre so professionally. I am comfortable and very happy with the care and eduction my kids are getting.
I highly recommend Dural to any parent!!

We love Dooral Kenthurst. The most important thing in my opinion, is that children feel happy and secure when being at daycare. The educators here are so caring and compassionate, and because it is a smaller daycare, the children recieve a lot of individualised care.It’s lovely to see my 2 yr old daughter often run up to her carers with a big smile on her face, and for them to scoop her up and tell her that they love her and that they’ve missed her, and give her a big cuddle. If she does get upset at drop off, they have her settled within a minute of me leaving!Being a small daycare, the kids develop strong relationships with each other and it doesn’t seem as much of an intimidating environment. My daughter is so happy, confident and thriving at Dooral.

Absolutely fantastic! Dooral isn’t just a daycare centre, it’s a family and I would strongly recommend this centre to anyone.My son has been going here since mid 2024. He started at 9 months old and every day has been great. I was very apprehensive about sending him to daycare, especially as a first time mum, but the moment I walked through the door for a tour, I knew this was the place for my family. The centre is clean and well cared for. Their educational programs are well designed and go beyond play based learning. The outdoor space is fantastic and allows the kids to partake in a range of activities, including gardening. They have strong connections with the local schools and use those connections to create meaningful excursions for the kids. They tailor programs to meet the learning needs and goals of each kid and spend the time actually getting to know them. Their lunch menu is fantastic and nutritious (he eats better than I do!). The lovely teachers genuinely care for each of the kids and this can be seen clearly in the time and dedication they put into their resources, their centre and the love they have for the children in their care.I would strongly recommend this centre to anyone. Joining the Dooral family was the best choice that I made for my son.

Fantastic daycare! The educators are so warm, kind and caring and my daughter is always willing to go! The educators put so much effort into different activities every day. The centre is very well- resourced and the outdoor playgrounds are wonderful with a lot of learning spaces. Highly recommend!

Dooral Early Learning Centre is a wonderful place of learning, fun and adventure. I was worried to send my son off to daycare when I had to return to work as I of course was concerned that he wouldn’t be nurtured and appreciated as much as at home.. well never fear, at Dooral it is the complete opposite! The staff are so caring, professional and take genuine interest in the life of the kids. They all are so involved in my son’s development and keep me constantly updated with progress and newly learnt skills, it is such a joy for a parent when they have to be away from their child. I could not recommend Dooral any higher.. It truely is the best second home for my son!

Words can not explain when your child is excited to get ready and get to the car because they know they are coming to Dooral!! We have started attending here a few weeks now and our nonverbal child hurries us to get him to Dooral and doesn’t want to leave at pick up. I have to chase him in the centre and carry him to the car as he doesn’t want to leave even though he has been there all day. This just shows amazing staff and amazing environment. The staff are so in-tuned with the children, patient, cheerful and work really hard to support our boy. Thank you Dooral staff for making our boy excited to be social and learning each Dooral day.

This daycare made the transition for my toddler starting daycare for the first time so much easier. The educators are kind, nurturing, and all mums themselves- not super young. Meals and nappies are included, which makes life so much easier. The centre is surrounded by beautiful Kenthurst gardens and nature, with plenty of room for kids to run around. There’s also not as much sickness here compared to the bigger daycares. Highly recommend!
